Cynthia Gordon-Wellington, MD, MA, LMHC

I am a seasoned clinician with a unique perspective as a former medical doctor that allows me to integrate clinical acumen with the principles of psychotherapy.
I assist clients in identifying maladaptive behaviors and understanding how these behaviors were once adaptive or protective. By understanding the subconscious drives for behavior I enable clients to predict and redirect the way these behaviors manifest, leading them one step closer to change.
I have received specialized training in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute and Reality Therapy/Choice Theory from the Glasser Institute of Choice Theory, two modalities which strongly align with my worldview and inform my therapeutic work.
In many ways, therapy is a winding path from dysregulation and distress intolerance to self-awareness and self-acceptance. It would be my privilege to walk that path with you.
